Your home in South Jersey

Opening fall 2026

Who We Are

South Jersey is a historically underserved and under-resourced region. That goes double for marginalized communities, like our LGBTQIA+ Community. Over the last three years, we have been doing the work to reach the queer community of South Jersey. We’ve actively supported queer organizations, their events and members through ACQA, the Atlantic County Queer Alliance. We did the intentional work to build a strong foundation and consistently, what we hear from our community members as their biggest need is a space they can feel safe and welcome. So we took our skills, resources, and connections to make the next step for our community.

Two years of research, meetings, tours, questions, decisions, and partnerships has led us to announcing the Pride Center of Atlantic City. Located just steps away from Atlantic City’s historic gayborhood, the Pride Center of Atlantic City will open this year as a full-service community center, offering both in-person and virtual programming to ensure accessibility for everyone. We hope you will join us on this journey.

Meet the Team

Mico Lucide

President

Mico Lucide is a lifelong Atlantic County resident and LGBTQ+ advocate, having led queer organizations since he was in college at Stockton University. He co-founded the Atlantic County Queer Alliance (ACQA) with the goal of bringing together LGBTQ+-serving organizations to collaborate and share resources while uplifting each other’s work in the South Jersey region. He is guided by the principle that “as a community, we cannot let enemies and egos, or personalities and problems, stand in the way of us coming together as a community.” He has devoted much of his adult life to the work of serving South Jersey’s queer community – but is grateful to know the work is in good hands with the team he’s helped assemble at the Pride Center of Atlantic City.

Jo Miller

Executive Director

Jo Miller currently serves on the city council of Woodbury and is the first out trans person to hold partisan office in the state of New Jersey. With experience in politics, deep knowledge of laws and their impacts on communities, strong connections to and relationships within the queer community of South Jersey, and a passion for justice, Jo brings their expertise to the Pride Center of Atlantic City.

Claire Brower

Program Coordinator

With years of experience working in the nonprofit industry and running queer community events in the Atlantic City and greater South Jersey area, Claire brings a wide array of skills and experience to the team. Originally hailing from Ocean County, Claire now calls Atlantic County home and knows firsthand how hard the lack of resources and dedicated queer spaces has affected the queer community of South Jersey’s ability to find and support each other. In addition to being the program coordinator for the center, Claire works in the environmental science field, volunteers with a local immigrant rights organization, and is the executive director of Queer Headed, a local nonprofit offering sober queer social events.
